Successful start: Our 1. workshop
On November 14, 2023, we reached a milestone - our first online workshop on the future vision of traffic avoidance in Austria. The event, which focused on the areas of passenger transport, freight transport and virtual mobility/digitalization, was not only informative but also extremely inspiring.
Input from experts on perspectives on traffic avoidance
The dynamic event was characterized by exciting inputs from experts from various sectors.
- Holger Heinfellner from the Federal Environment Agency opened the discussion with an insight into the Mobility Master Plan 2030 and the importance of traffic avoidance.

Ingrid Glauninger from Montan Spedition shared valuable insights into traffic avoidance in freight logistics

Martin Binder from ASFINAG highlighted the challenges and potential of decarbonizing business trips through virtual mobility.

Sebastian Tanzer from triply gave interesting insights into corporate mobility management

Lina Mosshammer from Punkt vor Stich and VCÖ contributed important aspects of inclusive and sustainable traffic avoidance to the discussion.
Discussion of future images of traffic avoidance
After these inspiring inputs, the participants were divided into three groups to brainstorm and discuss effective strategies for traffic avoidance. Not only were successful approaches discussed, but potential problems and challenges were also identified. The participants contributed their diverse perspectives and a lively exchange on the best ways to promote traffic avoidance ensued.
Recap of the first workshop
A promising outlook on the future of traffic avoidance was provided by visionary examples and best practices from the year 2030. These will be further elaborated and deepened in the next workshop.
Our first workshop marks the beginning of a fascinating journey towards shaping a sustainable transport future in Austria. The collaboration of experts and participants has shown that traffic avoidance is not only a necessity, but also an exciting opportunity to innovate and improve our mobility systems.
