Traffic avoidance forms the basis of the mobility transition, as climate goals can only be achieved by consuming less energy given the limited resources of renewable energy. Traffic avoidance also addresses the first priority goal of the federal government's Mobility Master Plan 2030, ahead of modal shift and improvement.
iNever pursues a holistic perspective that addresses the topics of behavioural change in passenger transport, freight transport, digitalization and virtual mobility, including their interactions, for all modes of transport. Short-term avoidance potential as well as future developments are considered in equal measure.
Main points of the project
During the one-year project period, iNever is pursuing the following priorities for the preparation of such a network:
- Creation of an actor and competence map on the topic of traffic avoidance
- Survey of (inter)national best practices and pioneering countries and regions for the three areas of behavioural change in passenger transport, freight transport and digitalization/virtual mobility
- Development of fields of action and measures
- Specification of research questions
- Establishment of an innovation ecosystem through active and co-creative involvement of stakeholders from research, innovation and practice
- Implementation of three workshops using the "Futures Thinking" method
- Creation of an online community "Traffic Avoidance Innovation Network" linked-in group
By means of concept development and institutionalization, the traffic avoidance innovation network is to be permanently established beyond the duration of the project.
